December 02

Ankara, Türkiye — 02.12.25

The Air Navigation Safety Coordination Platform for European and Asian ANSPs (SOCEA) welcomed HungaroControl as its newest member today during an official signing ceremony held in Ankara. The event brought together CEOs and high-level representatives from HungaroControl, AZANS (Azerbaijan), Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia (Kyrgyz Republic), Uzaeronavigation (Uzbekistan), and Kazaeronavigatsia (Kazakhstan), along with senior officials from the General Directorate of State Airports Authority of Türkiye (DHMİ).

HungaroControl previously expressed its intention to join SOCEA earlier this year, receiving unanimous support from all member ANSPs. Since then, the organization has already participated in SOCEA’s 2nd Annual General Meeting. With today’s signing, its membership is now formally recognized.

Speaking at the ceremony, SOCEA President and Deputy Director General of DHMİ, Dr. Cengiz Paşaoğlu, emphasized the importance of the occasion: “HungaroControl’s accession strengthens SOCEA both technically and operationally. Their expertise and active participation will contribute greatly to our shared mission of enhancing safety, efficiency, and interoperability across the European–Asian air navigation region.”

Dr. Paşaoğlu also noted that the signing ceremony coincides with the final activity of Türkiye’s term as SOCEA Presidency: “We are pleased to conclude our presidency with a development that adds lasting value to SOCEA’s future. I extend my sincere thanks to all member ANSPs for their constructive cooperation throughout this term.”

On behalf of HungaroControl, Mr. Ferenc Turi attended the ceremony and expressed their commitment to contribute actively to SOCEA’s ongoing initiatives.

SOCEA, established to enhance coordination among European and Asian Air Navigation Service Providers, continues to expand its collaborative platform. With the accession of HungaroControl, the organization further broadens its geographic reach and technical expertise, strengthening joint efforts to address evolving airspace challenges across the region.
