The Turkish State Airport Authority (DHMI) and Azerbaijan's Air Navigation Service Provider (AZANS) have established the Regional Air Navigation Safety Coordination Platform "SOCEA" through a cooperation protocol signed in Istanbul.

Turkish State Airport Authority DHMI and Azerbaijan’s Air Navigation Service Provider AZANS have signed a cooperation protocol to establish a regional air navigation safety coordination platform for Europe and Asia. The protocol was signed in İstanbul with the participation of DHMI Director General Dr. Hüseyin Keskin, Deputy Director General Dr. Cengiz Paşaoğlu, and Farhan Guliyev, Director of Azeraeronavigation's Air Traffic Department.
SOCEA, the new platform established by the Turkish State Airports Authority General Directorate (DHMI) and Azerbaijan's air navigation service provider Azeraeronavigation (AZANS), aims to enhance cooperation in air traffic management and air navigation safety. The initiative will also facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge between the two countries.
"In view of the anticipated contribution that advanced cooperation in the region in the field of air navigation safety will bring to strengthen the relationship between our countries, we are proud of SOCEA which will ensure the development of technical cooperation in this field for both Azerbaijan and Türkiye," said Dr. Hüseyin Keskin, assuming the role of the President.
The platform is designed to increase the effectiveness of air traffic management in the region, highlighting the strong "friendship and cooperation" between Türkiye and Azerbaijan. SOCEA is open to the participation of other countries, aiming to foster collaboration and improve air traffic management across Europe and Asia.
