BULATSA Joins SOCEA as Observer

The Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA) has formally decided to participate in the SOCEA as an Observer, reflecting its interest in strengthening regional cooperation on air navigation safety and air traffic management.

December 31

As an Observer, BULATSA will follow SOCEA’s activities, engage in selected meetings, and contribute to the exchange of operational experience and best practices among participating Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs). This engagement will support enhanced dialogue and coordination across the European–Asian airspace region.

Recently, HungaroControl joined SOCEA as a full Member, marking the platform’s first participation by a European Union ANSP. Following this development, BULATSA could become the second EU ANSP to engage with SOCEA, participating in the platform in an Observer capacity.

SOCEA continues to attract growing interest from both European and Asian ANSPs, reinforcing its role as a collaborative forum for improving aviation safety, operational efficiency, and cross-regional coordination in an increasingly complex air traffic environment.
